Police are looking for a man who robbed a Wells Fargo branch in Thousand Oaks on Thursday.
A man entered the bank at 140 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. about 12:15 p.m., claimed he had a gun and demanded money, according to Sgt. Mark Ritchie of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber fled through the back entrance, police said.
Police described the robber as black, about 30, clean-shaven with short hair, 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall, wearing a hat and sunglasses.
In the hours after the robbery, customers lined up to use the ATMs outside the bank’s front entrance. Dentist Andre Kanarki of Thousand Oaks said he was surprised by the robbery. “I thought this was the safest city in the Los Angeles area,” he said.
No one was injured in the robbery.
