Re “Reform Is a Better Option,” May 31.

Your reference to the fact that reform is better than secession is nonsense.

I suggest that you read the Declaration of Independence in total and pay particular attention to the part that lists the history of repeated injuries and usurpation by the king of Great Britain, which in fact established an absolute tyranny over these states.

I find these injuries and usurpations for the most part to have continued against the people of the San Fernando Valley, committed by the Los Angeles City Council and the bureaucrats who follow the orders of the City Council.

I find the “laundry list” of complaints against King George not unlike those complaints that are attributed to the City Council.

Reform is nothing but a stalling process. We’ll all be dead and gone by the time reform is ever made. It was revolution for the colonists and it’s secession for us.

A petition is now being circulated to authorize a study of Valley secession. When you are requested to sign the petition, please ask the following questions:

* How long would such a study take?

* How much would the study cost?

* Who would pay for it?

Then decide.
