JAMES THORNTON, 200, 500 freestyles, Foothill, Sr.

Although the Arizona-bound Thornton did not win either of his events at the Division I finals, his second-place finishes in the 500 (4:28.06) and 200 (1:40.22) freestyles were top county times.

FRANK UXA, 200 individual medley, Santa Margarita, Sr.

Uxa surprised the field when he came back from a third-place preliminary swim to win at the Southern Section Division I finals. His winning time of 1:51.58 was four seconds faster than his preliminary time.

ALAN ONG, 50 and 100 freestyles, Mission Viejo, Jr.

Ong swam in only two dual meets during the season but made his statement in the Division I finals, where the Malaysian exchange student blew away the competition to win the 50 (21.29) and 100 (46.31) freestyles.
