Lamppost Will Serve as Memorial to Crash Victim
Friends and family of a Palisades High School student who died in a car crash will dedicate a lamppost in the center of town in her honor today.
Sabrina Csato, 16, was killed by an allegedly drunk driver March 3 on Pacific Coast Highway as she drove to school from her home in Point Dume.
A plaque bearing one of Csato’s favorite expressions, “Go Big!,” will be affixed to the old-fashioned lamppost at Swarthmore Avenue and Antioch Street, said Rabbi Steven Carr Reuben of Kehillat Israel, a longtime friend of the Csato family.
Reuben and his wife, Didi, organized the memorial, which will be held at 5 p.m.
“She was such a light,” Reuben said of Csato. “We thought [dedicating the lamppost] would be the most appropriate thing. . . . She sparkled through life.”
