Santa Ana Calvary Chapel and Hector Torres of Rosemead High will attempt to defend titles Saturday in the state wrestling championships at University of Pacific in Stockton.
A total of 112 wrestlers from the Southern Section qualified for the state championships by finishing in the top eight in 14 weight classes at last week's Masters meet at Fountain Valley High.
Fourteen wrestlers from City Section schools qualified by winning or placing second at last week's City championship meet at San Fernando High.
Calvary Chapel, the two-time defending state champion, is going for its fifth state title in six years, with seven of its wrestlers qualifying.
The Eagles qualified seven wrestlers for Saturday's tournament, including 112-pound Masters champion champion Adam Bones and Mike Bigrigg (189 pounds).
Torres, a senior, won the heavyweight title last year and won the Masters championship en route to Saturday's state meet.
