No. 1 Compton (26-5)
vs. No. 2 Santa Margarita (27-2)
7:30 TONIGHT BREN CENTER
Compton may be without 6-9 center David Hamilton, who was slightly wounded in the left arm in a drive-by shooting near the high school Tuesday. These teams have combined to outscore their six playoff challengers by an average of nearly 20 points a game. T.J. Williams, Sea View League player of the year, scored 21 points in an 83-57 semifinal victory over Inglewood, while forward Ryan Forehan-Kelley leads Santa Margarita in scoring with a 14-point average. The key to an Eagle victory will be to slow down Compton, which is led by Hamilton and point guard Avondre Moore. Odds are, Compton will get its share of fastbreaks, but if the Eagles, who appear more balanced with eight players averaging eight or more points, can match them, this will be a close game.
