High School Wins Technology Grant

An $802,800 grant earmarked for technology will be given to Irvine High School by the California Department of Education.

The grant, provided through the Digital High School Education Technology Grant Program, will be used to integrate technology into the daily lives of students and teachers.

Trustees of the Irvine Unified School District announced the grant at their meeting this week.

Students will gain basic computer skills through the grant, which will pay for items such as word-processing programs, electronic publishing software and e-mail. All students will have access to computers in the classroom and in campus labs.
