Benefits Planned for Storm Victims

Two benefits are being organized to raise money for storm victims.

Band Together, an outdoor concert featuring at least six local groups, is scheduled for March 28 at the Laguna Beach High School stadium. Tickets cost $25.

Two days later, half of the proceeds from the high school’s production of the Broadway musical “42nd Street” also will be donated to the relief fund, said Jon Jenett, a Laguna Beach resident who is helping organize the events. Tickets cost $60 and $75 and include a gourmet dinner at Claes Seafood, a restaurant in the Hotel Laguna.

Jenett said he hopes to raise nearly $30,000. Donations will be forwarded to the Laguna Relief Coalition, a nonprofit group created to benefit victims of the 1993 wildfires. The coalition’s board of directors will decide how the money is distributed.
