Crabtree Right on Money, As Usual, for Bakersfield

Rob Crabtree, known for his impeccable control at Cal State Northridge, is proving to be just as accurate in the California League. The right-hander has walked three and struck out 28 in 25 innings for Bakersfield, posting a 2-1 record and a 1.80 earned-run average.

Crabtree’s former Northridge teammate, Eric Gillespie of Lake Elsinore, is seventh in the Cal League with a .326 batting average.

Adam Kennedy (Northridge) had two hits with two RBIs and two runs in Arkansas’ 11-2 victory over El Paso. Teammate Stacy Kleiner (Taft High) had a hit and drove in a run. Kennedy is batting .375 and Kleiner is batting .333.

Class-A--Darrell Dent (Montclair Prep) singled and stole his 10th base for Frederick in a 3-2 victory over Winston-Salem. . . . Josh Towers (Hueneme High, Oxnard College) earned his first victory for Frederick, pitching eight innings, striking out seven, walking none and allowing five hits and two runs. . . . Kurt Airoso (Northridge) drove in three runs with a double and a single in Lakeland’s 14-3 victory over Vero Beach.
