Two-time defending champion El Camino Real (17-2) earned the No. 1 seeding in the City Section 4-A Division playoffs and will have a bye in the first round on Tuesday.

Ten teams from the region made the 4-A playoffs, and three area teams made the 3-A Division playoffs. In the 4-A playoffs, Kennedy (17-5), seeded third, will have a bye and No. 4 Sylmar (12-5) will host No. 13 Taft (6-9). [For a complete list of the pairings, see C14.]

BASKETBALL

John Harbour, who won four Marmonte League championships as boys’ coach at Camarillo High, will replace Dianne Wilson-Graham as coach of the school’s girls’ program.

FOOTBALL

Running back Jermaine Marshall has re-enrolled at Antelope Valley High. Marshall, who rushed for 1,405 yards and 17 touchdowns as a sophomore at Kilpatrick in 1997, played for the Antelopes as a freshman.

SOCCER

La Reina goalkeeper Sara Leibowitz has been accepted at Chaminade and will transfer to the school in the fall, her father, George Leibowitz, said.

Christine Lawler has been hired as girls’ coach at Camarillo, replacing Mary Perez, who resigned after two years with the Scorpions because she is expecting her first child in July.

Tim Ward, an assistant with the Pepperdine women’s team the last four seasons, has been selected head coach, replacing Ken Dale, who resigned in March.
