Roger Clemens extended his scoreless streak to 18 innings and Carlos Delgado went five for five with a grand slam as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Seattle Mariners, 6-0, Thursday night in Seattle.

The Mariners stranded 16 runners, tying a major league record and setting an American League mark for the most runners left on base in a nine-inning shutout defeat.

The Blue Jays won their third game in a row and stopped Seattle from going over .500 for the first time this season.

Darrin Fletcher added a solo homer in the ninth for the Blue Jays.

Ken Griffey went three for five with two doubles for the Mariners.

Cleveland 7, Texas 2--Bartolo Colon pitched a four-hitter for his third career complete game as the Indians beat the Rangers 7-2 for their sixth consecutive win.

Aaron Sele (5-2) gave up five runs and 10 hits in eight innings as Texas lost its fourth in a row.

Kansas City 5, Boston 3--Jose Offerman admitted that his first home run in nearly a year was an accident.

“It just happened,” said Offerman, who connected in the fifth inning help the Kansas City Royals defeat the Red Sox at Kansas City, Mo.

“I just tried to hit it good and it happened that I hit it in a good spot. I know my game. My game is to try to get on base and get base hits.”

Offerman, who homered against rookie Brian Rose, now has 16 career homers. Before the shot, he had gone 463 at-bats since taking Felipe Lira deep last May 18 in Detroit.

Pat Rapp (2-3) won for the first time in four starts since April 13.
