CS Northridge 7, Southern Utah 5--Mike McNeely’s one-out double in the bottom of the eighth inning drove in Jeremy Sickles and Chris MacMillan to break a 5-5 tie for Cal State Northridge (34-19) in a nonconference home game.

McNeely, who had four runs batted in, also hit a two-run triple in the fourth inning.

Nakia Hill and Jeremy Sickles each had two hits for Northridge, with Hill hitting a home run. Eric Fuller (2-0) pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief for the victory.

Saddleback 9, Glendale 0--Matt Hellman had three hits and Mike Bench had two hits for Glendale (24-16) in the first game of a best-of-three series in the junior college Southern California regional playoffs at Saddleback College.

Cypress 4, Canyons 0--Alanna Gomez had two hits for Canyons (15-13) in the junior college Southern California regional playoffs at Cypress College.

Canyons will play at 10 a.m. today against the loser of the Saddleback-Bakersfield game in the double-elimination tournament at Cypress College.
