Sondheimer, Wharton Honored
Columnist Eric Sondheimer and David Wharton of The Times’ Valley Edition sports department won Greater Los Angeles Press Club awards Saturday at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Sondheimer received the top prize for body of work in sports columns and Wharton won an award of excellence for body of work in sports reporting.
The Times received 52 awards, including 29 first-place prizes.
The competition was judged by six press clubs from around the nation.
