Brulay Gets an Easy Win in Railbird
Making her graded stakes debut, favored Brulay remained unbeaten with her easiest victory yet for owners Jerry and Ann Moss and trainer Richard Mandella.
In winning for the third time, the 3-year-old Rubiano filly had what amounted to a public workout in the $107,100 Railbird Stakes Sunday at Hollywood Park.
Ridden by Gary Stevens, Brulay went right to the front, toyed with 25-1 shot Unreal Squeal, then kicked away in the stretch to win by six lengths in 1:20 4/5 for the seven furlongs.
Gourmet Girl, the 5-1 third choice, outfinished Unreal Squeal by a nose for second.
