Kyle Boller completed 30 of 37 passes for 474 yards and a school-record seven touchdowns, six in the first half, and Hart defeated Burbank, 49-6, in a Foothill League game Thursday night at College of the Canyons.

Boller, who left the game with 6:56 left in the third quarter and Hart leading, 49-0, was six yards short of the school record for passing yards in a game, set by Ryan Connors in 1991.

“I wasn’t really trying to break any records, I was just running our normal offense,” Boller said. “If I happen to break a record, that’s fine, as long as we win.”

Boller has 41 touchdown passes this season, breaking the school record of 39 set by Jim Bonds in 1986 and tied by Connors in 1991. Boller broke the Hart record of six touchdown passes in a game set by Bonds against Alhambra in 1986 and tied several times, twice by Boller this season.

Boller needs five touchdown passes to break the Southern Section record of 46 set by Chris Czernek of Newbury Park in 1995. The state record is 52 set by Santiago Alvarez of L.A. Franklin in 1989.

Jerry Owens caught eight passes for 236 yards, including touchdown receptions of 70, 30 and 92 yards for Hart (7-2, 4-0 in league play), which called one running play in the first three quarters.

Alan Gutierrez had 104 yards rushing in 27 carries for Burbank (1-8, 0-4) and scored on a two-yard run in the fourth quarter.
