In another Garden Grove League game:
Pacifica 54, Garden Grove 7--Ben Leyba scored three touchdowns to help Pacifica clinch at least a tie for the league title. Leyba scored on runs of nine, 15, and 10 yards for Pacifica (7-2, 5-0).
Bret Stern led the Mariners in rushing with 117 yards in 13 carries, scoring on six- and seven-yard runs.
Brent Kirkland completed eight of 14 passes for 132 yards for Pacifica, connecting with Brett Woods for a six-yard touchdown.
Jared Kemp and Steve Ortiz also added touchdowns for the Mariners, which held Garden Grove (3-6, 1-4) to minus 15 yards rushing.
In a nonleague game:
Los Amigos 41, Bellflower 20--Andrew Niumata scored five of Los Amigos’ six touchdowns, bringing his total to a county-leading 34.
Niumata gained 167 yards in 18 carries to bring his total to 1,883 yards this season. Los Amigos improves to 6-3.
