ON TV

Oakland at Baltimore

* Kickoff: 10 a.m.

* TV: Channel 2.

* Records: Raiders 6-2; Ravens 2-6.

* Story line: Raider quarterback Jeff George, still bothered by a groin injury, is questionable, but the real question is: Do the Raiders need him? They’re 3-0 behind Donald Hollas, who passed for 237 yards and two touchdowns last week in a 31-18 victory over the Seahawks. The Ravens have lost their last four games, including last week’s 45-19 rout by the Jaguars in which the Ravens lost a franchise-record four fumbles.

* Line: Raiders by 2

*

N.Y. Giants at Dallas

* Kickoff: 10 a.m.

* TV: Channel 11.

* Records: Giants 3-5; Cowboys 5-3.

* Story line: With quarterback Troy Aikman back in the lineup, the Cowboys look to be the team to beat in the NFC East after last week’s 34-0 rout of the Eagles. The Giant offense was inept in last week’s 21-14 loss to the previously winless Redskins, converting only two of 14 third-down situations and punting on 11 of 13 possessions. The Cowboys beat the Giants, 31-8, on Sept. 21.

* Line: Cowboys by 8

*

San Diego at Denver

* Kickoff: 1:15 p.m.

* TV: Channel 2.

* Records: Chargers 3-5; Broncos 8-0.

* Story line: After holding the Seahawks to 40 yards rushing two weeks ago in a 27-20 loss, the Charger defense ranks No. 1 in the NFL. That could change against the Broncos, who are humming along behind league rushing leader Terrell Davis and injury-free John Elway. The Broncos have won 20 in a row at Mile High Stadium.

*

Tennessee at Tampa Bay

* Kickoff: 5:15 p.m.

* TV: ESPN.

* Records: Oilers 4-4; Buccaneers 4-4.

* Story line: The winner will position itself for a possible late-season surge. Both have won three of four games after poor starts and are coming off their biggest victory of the season. Eddie George ran for 153 yards in the Oilers’ 41-31 victory over the Steelers last week, while Mike Alstott ran for a career-high 128 in the Buccaneers’ 27-24 upset of the Vikings. The Oilers are 3-1 on the road, the Buccaneers 4-0 at home.

* Line: Buccaneers by 3

THE REST

Atlanta at New England

* Kickoff: 10 a.m.

* Records: Falcons 6-2; Patriots 5-3.

* Story line: Here’s a chance for the Falcons to disprove the notion that they can’t beat good teams. They’ve won 12 of the last 14 games that Chris Chandler has started and finished. The Patriots’ Drew Bledsoe will test a Falcon defense that ranks 29th against the pass.

* Line: Patriots by 4 1/2

*

St. Louis at Chicago

* Kickoff: 10 a.m.

* Records: Rams 2-6; Bears 3-5.

* Story line: These are two of the most generous teams in the NFL, with the Bears leading the league in turnovers and the Rams third. Steve Stenstrom will start at quarterback for the Bears.

* Line: Bears by 3

*

Indianapolis at Miami

* Kickoff: 10 a.m.

* Records: Colts 1-7; Dolphins 5-3.

* Story line: The Dolphins get their second crack at the Colts, who lost to Miami in a season opener, 24-15, at Indianapolis. The Dolphins, coming off a disappointing 30-24 loss at Buffalo, have given up an NFL-low 13.6 points a game.

* Line: Dolphins by 9 1/2

*

Detroit at Philadelphia

* Kickoff: 10 a.m.

* Records: Lions 2-6; Eagles 1-7.

* Story line: Bobby Hoying will start at quarterback for the Eagles, whose offense ranks last in the league. Hoying, replacing the injured Rodney Peete, has yet to throw a touchdown pass this season while having five passes intercepted.

* Line: Lions by 3 1/2

*

Cincinnati at Jacksonville

* Kickoff: 10 a.m.

* Records: Bengals 2-6; Jaguars 6-2.

* Story line: After three consecutive road games, the Jaguars finally return home. Running back Fred Taylor, who accounted for 165 total yards in last week’s 45-19 rout of the Ravens, goes against a Bengal defense that ranks last in the league against the run.

* Line: Jaguars by 10 1/2

*

New Orleans at Minnesota

* Kickoff: 10 a.m.

* Records: Saints 4-4; Vikings 7-1.

* Story line: After losing last week to the previously winless Panthers, the Saints go up against a team that was unbeaten before last week’s 27-24 loss to the Buccaneers. The Vikings’ Randall Cunningham leads the league with a 114.3 quarterback rating.

* Line: Vikings by 14

*

Carolina at San Francisco

* Kickoff: 1 p.m.

* Records: Panthers 1-7; 49ers 6-2.

* Story line: The 49ers are 11-0 at home under Coach Steve Mariucci, but may be without quarterback Steve Young, who is questionable after last week’s pounding at Green Bay. If Young can’t play, Ty Detmer will go against the league’s worst passing defense.

* Line: 49ers by 12 1/2

*

Washington at Arizona

* Kickoff: 1 p.m.

* Records: Redskins 1-7; Cardinals 4-4.

* Story line: The Redskins finally won last week, beating the Giants, 21-14, in their first turnover-free game of the season. The Cardinals defeated the Lions last week, 17-15, despite being held to 37 yards rushing and 209 total yards.

* Line: Cardinals by 4 1/2

*

Buffalo at N.Y. Jets

* Kickoff: 1:15 p.m.

* Records: Bills 5-3; Jets 5-3.

* Story line: Two of the league’s hottest teams are among four tied for the lead in the AFC East. Led by Doug Flutie, the Bills have won five in a row. The Jets, led by Vinny Testaverde, have won their last three games--against the Patriots, Falcons and Chiefs--and are 4-0 in the AFC East.

* Line: Jets by 4

*

Kansas City at Seattle

* Kickoff: 1:15 p.m.

* Records: Chiefs 4-4; Seahawks 4-4.

* Story line: Both teams, pegged to battle the Broncos for AFC West supremacy, have faded after fast starts. The Seahawks have lost four of their last five games, and the Chiefs have lost three in a row since defeating the Seahawks, 17-6, last month at Kansas City.

* Line: Seahawks by 3
