Fillmore Fights Fires
Re “Chief Says Volunteer Fire Unit in Jeopardy,” Nov. 6.
Fillmore Fire Chief Pat Askren should resign or be fired. His statement, “Our response times will slow down, we’ll burn more and more houses,” has to be taken as a threat and proof that Chief Askren is not qualified to manage the resources available to him.
Chief Askren, the citizens of Fillmore will now sleep in fear, not because they didn’t vote for your budget increase but because they know you are out for revenge.
You owe an apology to the community and the men who have volunteered to serve under you.
