San Luis Obispo 38, Rio Mesa 22--The Spartans could not overcome four turnovers at San Luis Obispo.

Anthony Manansala gained 199 yards and scored a touchdown in 26 carries for Rio Mesa (3-8).

San Luis Obispo (9-2) used the legs of Khaled Elmasri, who gained 226 yards with three touchdowns in 26 carries, including fourth-quarter scores of 29 and 38 yards.

Poncho Tinoco completed six of 15 passes for 83 yards with one interception for Rio Mesa. Steven Qualls had a 95-yard kickoff return with 6:32 to play.

Arroyo Grande 49, Channel Islands 17--Chris Biascan rushed for 77 yards in 20 carries and Robert Vorba ran for two fourth-quarter touchdowns but the Raiders fell at Arroyo Grande.

Russell Patton, Channel Islands’ leading rusher, saw limited duty after suffering a concussion last week. He rushed for 40 yards in 10 carries.

Channel Islands (1-9-1) fell behind, 49-3, after three quarters before Vorba, who rushed for 53 yards, scored on runs of four and two yards, the last coming with five seconds to play.

Russell Spafford led Arroyo Grande (8-2) with 98 yards rushing in six carries, including a 75-yard touchdown on his first carry.
