Brethren Christian Can’t Match Valley Christian

Terrance Washington scored two second-half touchdowns to lead Cerritos Valley Christian to a 40-8 Olympic League victory over host Brethren Christian Friday night.

Washington scored on runs of six and eight yards, finishing the game with 120 yards in 10 carries.

After a scoreless first quarter, Erik Streelman opened the scoring for Valley Christian (3-1, 1-0) with a 30-yard touchdown reception from Tim Vanderhook. Vanderhook gave Valley Christian a 14-0 lead at the end of the half with a two-yard run.

A 35-yard field goal and a seven-yard touchdown run by Craig Witt, along with a safety and Washington’s touchdowns, rounded out Valley Christian’s scoring.

Brethren Christian’s touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 50-yard touchdown reception by Nathan Farris from Kyle Painter.

Brethren Christian is 2-2, 0-1.
