Littlerock 20, Rosamond 8--The Lobos’ Richard Newton scored on a pair of quarterback sneaks and teammate Keith Williams rushed for 204 yards in 21 carries for the Lobos (4-0) at Littlerock.

Williams ran for a 68-yard touchdown. Littlerock’s Rodney Wood rushed for 88 yards in 18 carries. Rosamond fell to 2-2.

Saugus 27, Quartz Hill 20--Sean Stoddard rushed for 151 yards in 21 carries, including two fourth-quarter touchdowns, at Quartz Hill to help the Centurions (1-3) snap a six-game losing streak dating to last season.

Stoddard’s second score, a six-yard run with five seconds to play, proved vital because Quartz Hill’s Clifton Herbert returned the ensuing kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown as time expired.

Stoddard broke a 14-14 tie with a 26-yard touchdown run with 4:46 to play.

Herbert, the Rebels’ quarterback, rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns in 12 carries. Herbert’s 15-yard scoring run tied the score, 14-14, with 22 seconds left in the third quarter.

Saugus’ David Parker completed 10 of 22 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns. Parker teamed with Jerome Edwards on a 48-yard touchdown pass with 3:26 to play in the second quarter to give the Centurions a 14-7 lead.

Parker connected with Chad Garrett for a 72-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to give Saugus 7-0 lead.
