Man Gets 45 Days for Child Pornography

A 29-year-old man was sentenced to 45 days in jail and was banned from a section of Venice Beach after he pleaded no contest to criminal charges of possessing child pornography--a videotape he made of two girls changing clothes at the beach.

Mark Snider of Cheviot Hills was sentenced by West Los Angeles Municipal Court Commissioner Joseph S. Biderman, who also ordered Snider to stay away from Ocean Front Walk.

Snider was arrested July 4 on Ocean Front Walk at Dudley Avenue after a beach goer complained to police that Snider had been seen videotaping small children changing clothes, said Deputy City Atty. Deborah Sanchez.

Police said they found a videotape in Snider’s camera that contained images of the unclothed genital areas of girls ages 10 and 12, as well as images of other children. The girls were at the beach with their parents, who told police they were unaware that the children were being videotaped.
