* Update--Hernandez won his last three regular-season games, limiting the Red Sox, Orioles and Devil Rays to two earned runs in 20 innings, but he hasn’t pitched since Sept. 25. “I’ve been training hard,” Hernandez said. “Two weeks off are not justification for pitching poorly [today].” Gooden has not pitched since he was ejected from Game 2 of the division series after throwing 22 pitches and retiring one batter against Boston.
