Sheriff’s Race
Not long ago I learned that a certain confessed serial murderer had just been transferred from Patton State Hospital (for the criminally insane) to Twin Towers jail to await trial. My client is No. 1 on this inmate’s current hit list, and I am probably on it. I called Patton to verify that he had actually been sent to Twin Towers, and then called Twin Towers.
The person answering Twin Towers’ telephone could not tell me whether he was there or not, but only that he was not in Twin Towers’ computer. I asked for the supervisor. I was told the supervisor could not be found and that I should check back in a few days.
We were talking about a serial murderer who has confessed to the police! I don’t know that I am so much voting for Lee Baca for L.A. County sheriff as against incumbent Sherman Block.
