NCAA Has More Questions for Titans

Cal State Fullerton has been asked to reappear before the NCAA Committee on Infractions at its November meeting in a case involving alleged violations in the men’s basketball program.

“There are a couple of other issues that we need to look at,” said David Swank, a University of Oklahoma law professor who chairs the committee.

Swank declined to elaborate on the need for a second appearance by Fullerton Nov. 14 in Kansas City. University and athletic department officials met with the committee Sept. 25 in Atlanta.

Judith Anderson, university executive vice president, also declined comment, other than to confirm that the committee had requested additional information.

Swank said he expects the committee’s report to be issued in December.

The NCAA investigation has focused on alleged violations during the summer and fall of 1993 and the summer of 1994 when Brad Holland was basketball coach. Holland resigned in September of 1994 to become coach at San Diego.
