Pringle Nears 2,000-Yard Mark

Share

Montreal running back Mike Pringle, a former Kennedy High and Cal State Fullerton standout, will likely become the first player in Canadian Football League history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season when the Alouettes host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Sunday.

Pringle enters the game with a league-leading 1,962 yards. He rushed for a CFL-record 1,972 yards in 1994 for the Baltimore Stallions, who moved to Montreal in 1996. The original Montreal Alouettes folded after the 1986 season.

Only four professional players have eclipsed 2,000 yards rushing in a season--O.J. Simpson, Eric Dickerson and Barry Sanders in the NFL and Herschel Walker in the USFL.
