St. John Bosco 40, Chaminade 21--Jamaul Montgomery rushed for 253 yards in 22 carries and scored touchdowns on runs of 68, one, six and 23 yards to lead the Braves at Chaminade.
St. John Bosco (4-3) scored on its first four possessions to take a 26-7 lead in the first half. Quarterback Alex Aguilar completed four of six for 132 yards, including a 29-yard scoring pass to Marty Muth in the second quarter.
Chaminade (3-4) didn’t get untracked until the fourth quarter when Lee Grassini scored on a one-yard run and Lyle Everett connected with Chris Canoles on a 30-yard scoring pass. Canoles caught eight passes for 123 yards. Everett completed 17 of 37 for 172 yards and had one pass intercepted.
Grassini rushed for 52 yards in 14 carries for the Eagles and scored on a one-yard run in the second quarter.
St. John Bosco had 313 yards of offense in the first half and finished with 491.
