GOLDEN LEAGUE
Lancaster 30, Highland 7--Robert LaPlante kicked three field goals and the Eagles (6-1, 2-0) built a 27-0 lead before the Bulldogs (1-6, 0-1) scored at Highland.
Lancaster’s victory sets up a showdown next Friday against Littlerock for first place.
Daniel Pagnella rushed for 86 yards in 19 carries for the Eagles. Pagnella’s nine-yard touchdown run midway through the second period gave Lancaster a 10-0 lead.
Jason Jacobs completed four of five passes for 99 yards, including a 58-yard touchdown pass play to Mike Brown late in the second quarter.
LaPlante kicked field goals of 31, 22, and 27 yards.
Highland’s Brandon McElvaine became the first running back to surpass 100 yards rushing against Lancaster this season, finishing with 124 yards in 22 carries.
