Sugar Ray has done a version of Steve Miller’s “Abracadabra” for the upcoming album tied to the TV series “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.” The album’s producer, Ralph Sall, also has been working with Save Ferris on three songs for the movie “Ten Things I Hate About You.” . . .

A two-CD live Spiritualized album, recorded last year at the Royal Albert Hall in London, is due Oct. 27. It starts and ends with versions of the gospel song “Oh Happy Day” framing the band’s eclectic space music. . . .

Theatrical band Psychotica, whose fans have been firing Internet volleys accusing Marilyn Manson of stealing frontman Pat Briggs’ look, has signed with Red Ant and will start work on an album in November, following a Halloween concert at the Ruby in L.A. . . .

Country-rockers the Old ‘97s will start working on a second Elektra Records album next month at Kingsway Studios in New Orleans, with L.A.’s Andrew Williams (of the Williams Brothers) producing. . . .

The L.A. techno-remix artist known as the Angel will score 13 episodes of “Wind on Water,” a new NBC drama series starring Bo Derek. The Angel has also collaborated with British drum ‘n’ bass act Smith & Mighty on a new album under the name Jaz Klash, and has her own release as 60 Channels due next month, with guest vocals by Frente’s Angie Hart. . . .

The latest veteran to get the dance music bug is Engelbert Humperdinck. “The Dance Album,” with updated mixes of such old hits of his as “Release Me” and newly recorded techno tracks, is due Oct. 27.
