Suspect Sought in Pre-Dawn Carjacking

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in a carjacking that occurred Thursday.
Police said the man is white, Latino or Italian, 22 to 28 years old. He has short, dark, wavy hair and brown eyes.
On Thursday, the 35-year-old victim left her car unlocked and entered a bagel shop at Imperial Highway and Santa Ana Canyon Road about 6 a.m.
When she drove away, police said, the carjacker sat up in the cargo area of her sport-utility vehicle.
The victim quickly stopped the vehicle and got out, police said. The carjacker climbed in and drove away.
Police found the vehicle abandoned nearby.
