Youth Brings Big Ups, Downs

The Clippers’ active roster has an average age of less than 25, the youngest in the NBA. Even including older players Stojko Vrankovic, 35, and Pooh Richardson, 32, who are on the injured list, the Clippers have the third-youngest full roster in the league, behind Denver and Vancouver.
Which may explain the team’s growing pains this season.
“We’ve beat some of the best teams in the league [in Utah and Portland]. . . . That shows that we have some parts here to put us over the top,” leading scorer Maurice Taylor, 22, said. “But it’s just going to take time because we’re young and we have to get better and continue to work.”
Being young has played a role in the Clippers’ inconsistency, which is one reason they’re 0-8 against Dallas, Denver and Vancouver combined.
