Farmers Insurance Names a State Executive Director

* Farmers Insurance has promoted Jerry Carnahan to state executive director, succeeding Jim Jacobs, who will be vice president of commercial operations. Carnahan has been with the Los Angeles-based insurer since 1979. The company also named Jim Westerman executive director of field operations.

* Entertainment lawyer Nancy Newhouse Porter, who represents some of the film industry’s leading animators, is joining the downtown Los Angeles firm of McClintock, Weston, Benshoof, Rochefort, Rubalcava & MacCuish as a partner. Newhouse Porter was formerly with Crosby, Heafy, Roach & May. Two other lawyers in her transactional entertainment practice group, Kristie Hubbard and Rich Shuter, will also join McClintock. Newhouse Porter represents such clients as “Toy Story” director John Lasseter, “Tarzan” director Chris Buck and “Antz” directors Tim Johnson and Eric Darnell.

* Real estate industry veteran John McRoskey will join Los Angeles-based CB Richard Ellis and will focus on its tenant representation business. McRoskey joins a team of professionals in Los Angeles that includes Whitley Collins, Alan Aufhammer and, as of Sept. 1, Mike McRoskey, John’s brother and current managing director of CB Richard Ellis’ Beverly Hills office. John McRoskey spent the last 10 years with Cushman Realty in Los Angeles.

* Professional services firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers named eight new partners at its Los Angeles offices: Daniel Brandhorst, Lawrence Evans, Charles Goldwasser, Robert Gumm, Robert Helmholz Jr., Mark Neagle, Michael Ozawa and Nick Raby.

* Jon D. Hoffmaster has been named chief executive of Eteetime.com, a La Quinta-based Web site that allows golfers to make tee-time reservations online. He previously was president of InfoUSA Inc., a provider of proprietary business and consumer databases and Internet white and yellow page directory services.
