Four people were shot to death and two were wounded in a Rosemead house Monday night, authorities said. The circumstances of the shootings were not immediately clear.

There were no arrests or suspects in custody, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Carrie Stuart.

The shootings occurred at 8:37 p.m. at a home in the 2500 block of Walnut Grove Avenue, according to a county fire dispatcher.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives arrived on the scene and family members of the victims were taken to a nearby command post.

The two surviving victims were taken to County-USC Medical Center.

“We heard multiple gunshots, about four, and then two minutes later another four or five more,” said David Miranda, 21, who was reached by phone and said he lives next door to the scene of the shooting.

Phung Tran, 15, said she heard the gunfire but thought it was construction noise.

“Then I heard a lady screaming,” Tran said. Tran said she later saw a man running down the street in a blood-soaked shirt.
