A 3-year-old Simi Valley boy who was bitten by a terrier-pit bull mix was not seriously injured, the Simi Valley Police Department said Tuesday.

The child was playing in a neighbor’s garage in the 2500 block of Lowell Court about 2:50 p.m. Monday when the dog slipped through an unlatched backyard gate, entered the garage and bit the child several times on the face, arm and abdomen, police said.

The boy, whose name police withheld, was taken to Simi Valley Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
