Eighth-Ranked Rosary Rolls Past Corona

Rosary, ranked eighth in the county, improved to 3-0 with a 78-20 victory over Corona in a pool-play game of the Gary Raya girls’ basketball tournament Wednesday at El Dorado High.

Junior Jennifer Farner had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Royals.

In another Gary Raya tournament game:

Estancia 50, Downey 32--Lauren Cassity scored 23 points for Estancia (2-1).

In consolation play at the Brea Ladycat tournament:

Mission Viejo 41, Fontana 39--Sophomore Meghan O’Donogue scored 22 points for the Diablos.

In the Fountain Valley tournament:

Century 45, Woodbridge 25--Ana Villalovos scored 19 points for the Centurions in a pool-play victory.

In the second round of the Troy/Kennedy tournament:

Huntington Beach 52, Katella 32--Amy Sanders had 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Oilers (2-0).

Magnolia 41, Buena Park 32--Armida Galvez had 15 points and nine steals to lead Magnolia (3-1) in a consolation game. Jazmin Young had eight points and five assists for the Sentinels, who led, 38-22, after three quarters.

In nonleague games:

Saddleback Valley Christian 30, Southern California Christian 22--Danielle Harbin scored 19 points for SVC (4-0).

Saddleback 50, Rancho Alamitos 40--Sophomore Alisa Carillo scored 22 points for host Saddleback (2-2).

Santa Ana Valley 67, Tustin 38--Post players Crystal Davis had a game-high 17 points and 17 rebounds and Carina Martinez had 15 points and nine rebounds for Santa Ana Valley (4-2).
