Gomez Gets Full-Time Football Job at Santa Ana

Jesse Gomez has been elevated to full-time status as football coach at Santa Ana High, Athletic Director Frank Alvarado said.
Gomez, a Santa Ana graduate, was interim coach this fall and led Santa Ana to a 6-5 record and its first Southern Section playoff berth in nine seasons.
VOLLEYBALL
Patrick Nevins has been named boys’ volleyball coach at Orange High, Athletic Director Charlie Fisher said.
Nevins, a graduate of La Habra, will also be offensive coordinator for the Orange football team.
BASEBALL
C.J. Wilson, a left-handed pitcher/outfielder from Santa Ana College and Fountain Valley High, signed a letter of intent with Loyola Marymount.
TRACK AND FIELD
Fred Bosley has been named head track and field coach at Irvine High, Athletic Director Erik Terry said Friday.
Bosley took over the Vaqueros’ cross-country program this season and has been a member of the school’s track and field coaching staff for the past six years.
FOOTBALL
Junior All American “All Conference” youth football games will be played Sunday at Cal State Fullerton. The games will feature teams made up mostly of players from Orange County against those made up primarily of players from Los Angeles County. The schedule:
9 a.m.--Junior Clinic Division (ages 7-8); 11--Junior Midget (ages 11-13); 1 p.m.--Midget (ages 12-14); 3--Clinic (ages 8-10); 5--Junior Pee Wee (ages 9-11); 7--Pee Wee (ages 10-12).
