Lighting Ceremony Planned for Memory Tree * The Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurses Assn. will hold its annual “Light Up a Life” Memory Tree-Lighting Ceremony at 7 p.m. today at the Pacific View Mall, 363 S. Mills Road, Ventura. The Buena High School string orchestra and members of the Hallelujah Dance Theater will provide entertainment. For $15, you can place a personalized star on the memory tree. Last year, this event raised $15,000 to support the association’s hospice programs and services. Information: 642-0239.

High School to Host a Night of Bingo

* Westlake High School is sponsoring bingo night Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. in the school cafeteria, 100 N. Lakeview Canyon Road. Each of the 25 games will pay out $250. The minimum cost to play is $8; the cost to play in every game is $21. Early-bird games start at 6:30 p.m. There will also be door prizes. Proceeds will benefit academic and co-curricular activities. Law Enforcement Groups Plan Blood Drive

* The Ventura County Sheriffs’ Assn. will host its first Holiday Blood Drive on Friday at the association’s office building, 1690 Ventura Blvd., Camarillo. The event is co-sponsored by the Ventura County Prosecutor’s Assn. Blood donors are automatically entered to receive door prizes and gifts. Appointments or information: 987-9785.

Cat Rescue Group Schedules Adoptions * Greyfoot Cat Rescue will hold cat and kitten adoptions from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Petco, 4300 E. Main St., Ventura. Adoption includes spay or neuter, first vaccination, flea treatment, deworming and nail trim. Adoption fee is $65. Information: 649-4840.

Camarillo Y Seeks Fund-Raiser Volunteers * The Camarillo Family YMCA is recruiting volunteers for its annual “Campaign for Youth.” The goal of the campaign is to raise $81,000 next year for youth programs and scholarships. To volunteer or information: 484-0423.

Used-Book Sales to Benefit Libraries * The Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library sponsors daily used-book sales at the Newbury Park branch, 2331 Borchard Road, and the Grant R. Brimhall Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. Nearly $23,000 was raised last year. Proceeds provide books, programs and other materials for both libraries. Information: 495-4796.

Salvation Army Branches Seek Volunteers * Salvation Army branches in Oxnard / Port Hueneme and Ventura need volunteers for their Christmas Kettle bell-ringer programs. Sale to Aid Big Brothers / Sisters Program * Interface Children, Family Services of Ventura County is holding its 16th annual holiday greeting card sale. Offered this year are standard cards available with name or logo. Interface’s own cards feature drawings by children involved with the agency and fine art cards from Ventura County artists.
