Calvary Chapel Is Third After Aparicio’s Effort
Tony Aparicio defeated Mitch Morgan of Wasatch, Utah, 11-5, to win the 140-pound title and help Calvary Chapel to a third-place finish Tuesday at the Reno Tournament of Champions.
Wasatch won the 72-team tournament with 202.5 points, while the Eagles finished with 185.5.
Defending state champion Michael Simpson of Brethren Christian defeated Luke Weaver of Sand Springs, Okla., 14-7, in the 125-pound title match. The Warriors finished 27th.
