Piatkowski, Nesby Returning to Form

After struggling for much of the season, Eric Piatkowski and Tyrone Nesby have suddenly regained their touch.

“I never felt terrible out there, most of the time when I was shooting the ball . . . I thought my shots were going in every time I shot them,” said Piatkowski, who scored 12 points on five-of-nine shooting against Sacramento Thursday night and made four three-point baskets in a victory over Golden State on Wednesday.

“I could tell some of my teammates were a little bit down on me because that’s one of the things I’m supposed to do: Knock down the open shot. I was getting open shots and not making them.”

Nesby started to get his offense going after he was inserted into the starting lineup when Derek Anderson suffered an ankle injury.

Against the Kings, Nesby made five of nine shots for 13 points and against the Warriors, he had 28 points, including four three-pointers.

“I’m feeling good about my shot now. . . . I feel it’s been coming around,” Nesby said. “I am not thinking about it. I’m just going out there and shooting.

“If I miss, it’s OK. . . . I’m not getting mad and letting that affect my next shot.”

Anderson, who is expected to be sidelined at least another week, had 30 children from the Derek Anderson Foundation who participate in the non-profit Community Build Program for disadvantaged youth in the Los Angeles area attend Thursday’s game.

Anderson also hosted a Christmas party for the children after the game.

Forward Marty Conlon, who signed as a free agent with the Clippers last Friday, missed his third consecutive game to be with his father, who is ill in New York.

It is still uncertain when Conlon, who did not play in his only game with the team, will return.
