LAKE FOREST
At the request of Irvine-based Taco Bell Corp., the City Council postponed passing an ordinance Tuesday that would limit the number of drive-thru restaurants and automotive service stations on El Toro Road. The city wants to curb the number of drive-thrus because of the traffic they create. With El Toro Road designated as a redevelopment zone, officials would rather see it become a social destination center. The council will consider the issue again at its Feb. 16 meeting.
