A man was stabbed twice in the back Saturday night during an argument with his neighbor at a Ventura apartment complex, police said.

David Stockdill was being treated at Ventura County Medical Center for knife wounds received in the 8:10 p.m. incident on Del Norte Street, Ventura Police Lt. Gary McCaskill said.

The wounds were not life-threatening and Stockdill was listed in good condition at the hospital, officials said.

After the stabbing, police said, Stockdill’s neighbor, a man officers would not identify, fled on foot toward a nearby orchard. The neighbor was still being sought late Saturday. Both men are in their 20s, McCaskill said,

The cause of the argument was being investigated but the incident does not appear gang-related, McCaskill said.
