About 130 parents attended a recent parent organization meeting at Eastbluff Elementary School and by an almost unanimous vote chose to form a parent-teacher association. At the meeting, parent concerns and questions about the reopening of the school in September were addressed.
Newport-Mesa Unified School District is spending about $3.2 million to renovate the school. The school will be reopened to relieve overcrowding at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School, which has about 840 students and is expected to grow because of the annexation of Bonita Canyon.
