COUNTYWIDE
Applications are available for membership on Orange County’s inaugural commission to help distribute anticipated revenue accrued under Proposition 10, the tobacco tax initiative approved in November by California voters. The county must establish a task force to qualify for the tobacco tax revenue, said county spokeswoman Diane Thomas, who added that the size of the panel has not yet been determined. Panel members must represent a variety of backgrounds, including child care, medicine and education.
Applications are available by calling (714) 834-2345, through the county’s Internet Web site, www.oc.ca.gov/, under “special notices” and at the third floor reception desk at the Orange County Hall of Administration at 10 Civic Center Plaza in Santa Ana. The application deadline is March 15.
