Olowokandi’s Start Gets Fouled Up
Michael Olowokandi’s first NBA start got off to a rocky start Saturday night when he picked up two fouls in a six-second span in the first quarter against Phoenix. After averaging 14.3 points and seven rebounds over the first three games, Olowokandi finished with nine points and seven rebounds in 34 minutes against the Suns.
“That’s just something I have to learn from, not picking up easy fouls,” said Olowokandi, who has impressed Phoenix center Luc Longley in their two meetings.
“He’s a stud, a big, strong, quick-footed guy, he’s a rookie and he’s going to make a few mistakes but I think he’s going to be a dandy player.”
