Ice Dogs Fall Short in Las Vegas
Scott Hollis scored in the first period and once during the shootout as the Las Vegas Thunder beat the Long Beach Ice Dogs, 2-1, Sunday night for its seventh consecutive home win.
Hollis’ short-handed goal at 3:45 of the first period gave the Thunder a 1-0 lead. The Ice Dogs tied it 1-1 on Sean Tallaire’s goal at 13:17 of the second period. He increased his scoring streak to nine games.
The game was decided on a shootout, with Russ Romanuik, Hollis and Jason McBain scoring for Las Vegas. Long Beach could manage only two scores by Jaroslav Modry and Lonnie Loach.
Long Beach is 33-20-3 and in second place in the Western Conference’s Southwest Division.
