Baseball

Owens drove in 17 runs last week in four Titan victories. Owens had four doubles and three home runs, including a grand slam. He batted .524 for the week.

Owens, a junior shortstop-third baseman, hit .182 in the first seven games with two RBIs. The big week raised his batting average to .349.

THIS WEEK

Men’s basketball: The Titans (13-11, 7-7) can clinch the final spot in the Western Division for the conference postseason tournament with either a victory or a loss by fifth-place Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (10-15, 5-9) in the final two games of the regular season. The Titans and Mustangs play at 7 p.m. Thursday in Titan Gym. Fullerton hosts division leader UC Santa Barbara at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Women’s basketball: The Titans close out the season at San Luis Obispo at 7 p.m. Thursday and at UC Santa Barbara at 7 p.m. Saturday. The Titans are 3-21, and one more loss will tie most in school history, 5-22 in 1993-94.

Baseball: First baseman Chris Beck leads the 15th-ranked Titans (8-3) in batting (.581). Fullerton hosts USC (4-8) at 7 p.m. Wednesday then go to Alabama for three games beginning Friday.

Wrestling: Titans will compete in the Pac-10 Championships Saturday and Sunday at Stanford. Joey Coughran is 20-3 at 141 pounds and Steve Duran 18-9 at 165.
