Ice Dogs Lose in Houston, 5-1

HOUSTON —
Mark Freer scored twice Wednesday night to lead the Houston Aeros to a 5-1 victory over the Long Beach Ice Dogs.
Zac Boyer added a goal and two assists for Houston, which has an International Hockey League-best record of 29-5-6. The Ice Dogs (29-15-0) are second in points in the league, as well as in the Southwest division.
Louie DeBrusk scored his first goal for Long Beach.
Long Beach goalie Trevor Koenig had 32 saves. Houston goalie Manny Fernandez saved 24 of 25 shots.
