Bingo for Big Brothers and Big Sisters

* Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Ventura County will hold fund-raising bingo contests from noon to 6 p.m. today at 3503 Arundell Circle, Ventura. High School Plans Benefit Bingo Games

Reading to Aid Playwrights Conference

* Peter Strauss, Larry Hagman, CCH Pounder and David Hyde Pierce will participate in a benefit reading of the play “Incorruptible,” a dark ages farce, at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Nordhoff High School auditorium, 1401 Maricopa Highway, Ojai. Fund-Raising Party for St. Pat’s Day Parade

* The organizing committee for the Ventura County St. Patrick’s Day Parade will host its ninth annual Green Pig Party fund-raiser at 5 p.m. Jan. 29 at O’Brien’s on Main, 394 E. Main St., Ventura. The party will include Celtic entertainment, live and silent auctions and sampling of foods from area restaurants. El Concilio Dinner to Honor Latino Leaders

* El Concilio del Condado de Ventura will hold its ninth annual Latino Leadership Awards dinner at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort, 2101 Mandalay Beach Road, Oxnard. Six Ventura County residents will be honored for their contributions to the betterment of Ventura County’s Latino community. Orders Being Accepted for Daffodil Days

* The American Cancer Society will sponsor its 14th annual Daffodil Days flower sale fund-raising campaign, with orders being accepted from Feb. 1 to March 1. Prices range from $10 for a small bouquet to $110 for an elaborate arrangement. Proceeds will benefit the cancer society’s programs for cancer patients and their families, as well as public education and advocacy programs. Gala and Auction to Raise Funds for School

* Four Winds School will sponsor its annual Mid-Winter Gala and Auction fund-raiser at 3 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Masonic Hall, 309 Mallory Way, Ojai. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Suzanne’s Cuisine, dessert by the Ranch House restaurant. Auxiliary to Host Benefit Authors Luncheon

* The Twelve O’Clockers Auxiliary of the Assistance League of Ventura County is set to host a benefit authors luncheon at 10 a.m. Feb. 8 at Las Posas Country Club, 995 Fairway Drive, Camarillo. Authors Frances Laurence, Charles Hillinger, Mark Bailey, Jennifer Carter and Joel Hirschhorn will be the special guests. Heart Association Sponsors Run and Walk

* The American Heart Assn. will sponsor the Ojai Valley Heart and Sole run and walk Feb. 13 beginning at Sarzotti Park, 510 Park Road, Ojai. Check in will begin at 7 a.m., with the 5K walk and run starting at 8 a.m., 10K walk and run at 8:45 a.m. and 1-mile family fun run at 8:55 a.m. $20 general, $8 children 18 and younger for the 5K and 10K; $6 for the fun run. Cancer Center to Put on Fashion Show

* Ventura County cancer survivors will serve as models for the Cancer Center of Ventura County’s annual Heart and Soul of Fashion show from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Residence Inn by Marriott at River Ridge, 2101 Vineyard Ave., Oxnard.
