Mixed Reviews for Road Show

Share

Are the Ducks road warriors or road worriers? It depends on whom you talk to.

“We’ve played some great games on the road and haven’t been rewarded,” Coach Craig Hartsburg said. “I’m not concerned. I think we feel very comfortable on the road. I’m confident that we can get the job done.”

The Ducks are 5-11-5 away from the Pond--only two teams in the NHL have fewer road victories--and they are 0-3-2 in their last five road games, which includes a 2-1 loss at Nashville.

The Ducks will play four of their next five on the road, starting tonight in Denver against the Avalanche.

“I think we take too many penalties on the road,” left wing Paul Kariya said. “You can get away with that at home. . . . But it catches up with you on the road. We have to stay out of the box.”

The Ducks have given up 18 power-play goals in 21 road games.

France Roussel, wife of Duck goalie Dominic Roussel, gave birth to Tristan Roussel, a nine-pound, two-ounce boy, Tuesday evening. He is the couple’s third child.

“His eyes are wide open and he looks alert,” Roussel said. “He might be a goalie.”
