Services to Take a Patriotic Cast

Several Orange County churches will be taking time out Sunday to celebrate the nation’s founding with special sermons and patriotic festivities.

The Crystal Cathedral will wave what church officials call the world’s largest indoor American flag during morning worship services. The 9:30 and 11:30 services will feature guest speaker Danny Cox and music by the New Tradition men’s a cappella chorus, the Hour of Power orchestra and soloist Christina Stojanovski. Superior Court Judge David O. Carter, a Marine combat infantry officer in the Vietnam War, will speak at the Calvary Church of Santa Ana’s 10 a.m. family service. The service will also include patriotic music. There will be no Sunday School, but child care will be available for pre-kindergarten children. Calvary Church is at 101 N. Crossroads Community Church will celebrate at its 10 a.m. service with the Crossroads Gospel Choir’s performance of “America, Sing Your Song of Freedom.” Pastor Daniel Kruse will lead the services.
